Getting Started with CRM

Smetter CRM is designed for managing relationships with prospective and existing clients of a construction company.
In the CRM, you can create deals, move clients through the sales pipeline, plan next steps, assign tasks to employees, and keep a complete history of client interactions.

When the deal moves into the construction phase, you can create a Project from it and continue working with Work Packages, the Schedule, Tasks, Purchasing, and Analytics in the main Smetter workspace.

Section

What it’s for

Deals (1)

The main sales pipeline. Create deals here and move them through the pipeline stages.

Tasks (2)

Calls, meetings, document sharing, and other client-related activities.

Follow-up (3)

Deals you have decided to revisit later.

Won Deals (4)

Deals where the sales stage is complete and the company continues working with the Client and the Project.

Lost Deals (5)

Deals that were not won.

CRM uses Smetter’s shared Tasks module. This means tasks created while working with deals appear alongside the company’s other tasks, with the same due dates, assignees, and statuses.

Getting started with CRM

  1. Set up your sales pipeline. Define the stages your deals move through.
  2. Create your first deal. Add the Client and information about the future Project.
  3. Plan the next step. For example, schedule a call or meeting, prepare an estimate, or send a proposal.
  4. Move the deal through the pipeline stages. Update the stage as your work with the Client progresses.
  5. Once the deal is won, create a Project. Continue working in the “Jobs” workspace.

When CRM is unavailable

If you can’t switch to "Sales", you either do not have permission to use CRM or CRM is not included in your current plan. In this case, you will need to switch to a different plan.

Access permissions are configured by the company administrator under “Company” → “Employees” → “Permission settings”. Learn more about access settings on the "Company and Employees"

“Jobs”, where you can create Work Packages, schedule work, manage purchasing, and track finances.
